Its Oct. 15 and this time its permanent

It is October 15 -- Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.

In the past each of the 50 governors had to be chased down to sign a resolution declaring the day as such. That was nothing short of interesting to see who would and who would not sign and their reasoning.

This year Washington made it permanent.

The resolution was signed a couple of weeks ago -- I needed it to settle before I could write about it. It is a good thing I think. We truly are a nation of silently grieving mothers for few ever speak of how their child was born still or died during its first year of life. Having this day lets mothers know they are not alone on this most unnatural journey.

It changes everything about you, even the way you breathe.

Such a long long time to be gone, and a short time to be there.

It is not about abortion at all.

Oct. 15 is about baby loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, etc.

It is about how your world is rocked when the universe takes away your child.
